No 396, Friday 23rd November 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for a lovely week. It has got colder and
I’m pleased to see more children with coats. Please
ensure they bring one everyday.
What a lovely assembly Cerise class had on
Thursday. I was so sorry to miss it but Helen told
me how amazing it was, packed full of science,
history and fun.
Congratulations to everyone here, especially our
Science Lead, Mike for all his hard work to enable
our school to gain the PSQM Gilt Award! This
Primary Science Quality Mark has been awarded
to us by local experts to celebrate our commitment
to excellence in Science teaching and learning.
Jane Turner, PSQM National Director said “Gaining
a Primary Science Quality Award is a significant
achievement for a school. The profile and quality
of Science teaching and learning in each awarded
school is very high. Children are engaging with
great science, both in and outside of the classroom,
developing positive attitudes towards Science as
well as secure scientific understanding and skills.
Science subject leaders, their colleges, head
teachers, children, parents and governors should
be very proud.”
Please can I remind you that children should not
be bringing extra items to school such as lipsalves,
money, swapping cards or sweets. Thank you.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
