Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a good start to the new year and the new term. The Wow days were great and the children seemed to really enjoy them.
Year 5 visited the Science Museum and were fantastically behaved when the fire alarm went off and they had to evacuate the building.
Year 2 were also fantastic when they tried hard to get to the zoo on Monday. The tube strike meant buses were too full and the children had to turn back. When I chatted to them they understood and are really looking forward to going another time.
We are now having a longer assembly on Mondays. Reception to Year 6 will be coming together every Monday morning with myself, Mel McHugh and Barney. We will have time to discuss any whole school topics and do lots of music and singing. Children can also present a child led assembly if they wish to during this time. It’s a great way to start the week.
Please can I remind you that we don’t have dogs on the school site or tied to any gates/fences as we have some children who are frightened of them and we don’t want them worrying about coming to school. Thank you for supporting us with this.
The weather has turned cold so we are encouraging children to bring warm coats to school. Please could you ensure they are labelled. We are reminding the children to be responsible for their own items so they do not need to enter the building to go back and collect anything. Thank you.
Thank you for supporting the topic homework. I am very impressed with the fantastic work the children have produced. They are also very enthusiastic to talk about their work. It’s lovely to see them so proud.
Have a great weekend and keep warm.
