No 329, Friday 9th December 2016

Dear Parents and Carers,

The school has been very busy this week with our Christmas preparations. The tree in the hall is up and the children have been busy making decorations. Please remember we are having Christmas Jumper day for Save the Children on Friday 16th December. The children can either wear a Christmas jumper or decorate one. Any donations for Save the Children would be very welcome.

The Winter Fair is this Saturday. We look forward to seeing you there and thank you to those of you who have donated items or your time to help. It is much appreciated.

Apricot performed a great assembly this week on the Three Little Pigs and materials. They performed their own version of the story which was fantastic. Well done Apricot class.

Our Christmas performances are nearly here. The children have been rehearsing and I am really looking forward to my first Christmas at Betty Layward. As space in the hall in Stoke Newington is tight they have asked us to split the concert so Years 2,3 and 4 will be performing their songs at 2:00pm at Stoke Newington school and Years 5 and 6 will be performing at 2:45pm. If you have children in both performances please remain seated. If you do not please only attend the concert with your child’s year group as space in the hall is very limited. We can only allow a maximum of two adults per child as space is tight. Please remember not to post any photos or videos on social media. Thank you for supporting us with this. I am really looking forward to it.

It is our Christmas lunch on Thursday. We will have Turkey with all the trimmings and a delicious vegetarian option. If your child normally has a packed lunch but would like to have a Christmas lunch, please remember to send in £2 by Monday 12th December.

Please remember we break up on Wednesday 21st December at 1:45pm.

Have a lovely weekend I look forward to seeing you at the Winter Fair tomorrow.
