Dear Parents and Carers,
We’ve had a rather damp but positive week at BL!
Thank you to all the parents who attended Sports Day for EYFS and KS1 this week! There was a lovely atmosphere and the parent’s race was full to the brim! Thank you to Salwa, and Simon for organising it! Apologies that we had to cancel the KS2 Sports day due to the weather. We assessed the park conditions at 830am and found it to be bog-like; too dangerous to run on. We have reorganised this for Friday 8th July and hope you can attend.
Year 5 loved their trip to London Zoo this week, even the rain didn’t dampen their spirits and they enjoyed learning about the various animals there (please see pictures opposite).
Thank you to all who attended our coffee morning this week with Mel. They run every Wednesday from 930am in Daniel House and a variety of subjects is covered. A parent brochure will be available before the end of the summer term that will detail the many ways parents can access school services.
If your home language is not English and you would like help with translating documents or need a translator to be present in a meeting with staff, please do let us know and we will get this sorted for you.
This week we held a Maths workshop for Year 4 which was well attended. It was a great opportunity for parents to understand how maths is taught in school and what is covered in Year 4. Feedback was positive and these will continue to run for each year group.
Today is Emerald classteacher’s last day until the Autumn term. Carly is leaving to get married in Scotland and we wish her every happiness! We look forward to having her back in September. Emerald class will be taken by Jacqui Shields for the last four weeks of term.
Thanks to Barney for playing the accordion in the playground this morning, I think we needed that!
Have a wonderful weekend with your families!
