We actively encourage children to make healthy choices.
We serve healthy, balanced breakfasts, lunches, and after school snacks.
With the exception of end of term class parties, pupils are only offered water and milk to drink.
All the water in classrooms is drinking water. Cups are provided in the classroom and children are encouraged to drink water during the school day.
Food Committee: Policy and menus are devised by representatives of the School Council, members of staff and parents. The menu is reviewed termly.
Some pupils prefer packed lunches. We encourage all pupils to bring in a healthy lunch.
Fruit and milk time: Fruit is offered to all KS1 and KS2 pupils.
If pupils do not want fruit, substitute snacks are not permitted.
KS2 Pupils are permitted to bring a piece of fruit from home to eat at break-time. Substitute snacks are not permitted.
Milk is delivered to the pupils whose parents have paid for them to participate in the cool milk scheme. The milk is delivered each day and distributed by class monitors. It is important that it is drunk before lunch on the day that it is delivered. Pupils who do not like or cannot have milk are offered water instead.
