Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you had a lovely half term. It’s lovely seeing all the children back. We have a busy term coming up and an extra busy week next week with Wow day and World Book Day. Please do not go out of your way to spend money on costumes. Creative home items will do. We will look forward to seeing the children dressed as a book character. Also, could children bring in their favourite picture book for World Book Day. Thank you for supporting us with this.

I am so impressed with the enthusiasm and generosity around project playground. It is amazing. We have raised over £4000 in a very short time. Manon and Rosie in Year 5 raised £19.60 by selling lemonade in their Street, please see photograph opposite. I know we can do this. The children are really keen to raise money for it too and we are asking them to start collecting 20ps. We ask that the children collect 20ps at home for maybe doing jobs etc. We then announce a day around June time when we ask the children to bring them in and the class with the most 20ps wins £20 to spend as they choose. This is an easy and great fundraising opportunity and all proceeds will be going to project playground. Thank you to those of you who have donated and please pass our thanks on if a family member or a friend donated too. It is much appreciated. Thank you to those of you who are running the Hackney Half Marathon in aid of this too. We are very grateful. It is such a privilege to work alongside such committed and dedicated parents and carers. Thank you.

The weather has got warmer (this might not last though) and we ask that all children bring a water bottle to school. We will be trying to get rid of plastic cups in the classroom so it is essential they bring one to school. Thank you for supporting this.

As you know we have started talk homework. Please discuss this over the weekend at home. The theme this week is ‘if you had one wish it would be……’

Have a lovely weekend and please remember it’s the jumble sale next weekend. I look forward to seeing you there.
