Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a good week. Emerald class performed a lovely assembly and I was sorry not to be able to be there. I look forward to watching the video. I heard that it was very entertaining and packed full of history, politics and theatre! There was even comedy and a tragedy. Well done Emerald class.

We have started our new menu and the children are talking very positively about the food and how delicious it is. We follow the school food plan as it’s important to ensure we provide the children with a healthy balanced lunch. I eat with the children every day and this means I can chat to the children and see what they are enjoying and not enjoying. Our catering company has very high standards and work closely with us about the menus. We really enjoy working with them. Please follow this link to find out more about School Food Standards:

Year 3 enjoyed the magical musical mastery of The Singalong Band for the last 2 Thursdays, a PTFA funded project that brings this well-known group of Arts Practitioners once again to Betty Layward having previously worked with Reception and Years 1 & 2 to great success. Do check out their website for further info on them at www.singalongsongs.co.uk . Much joy was had by all.

The NSPCC assemblies and workshops went well this week. The children were great ambassadors for the school and listened really well.

I am really impressed how the children are walking to school at the moment – they are not scooting or cycling on the school grounds or walking on the wooden benches. Thank you for supporting us with this. I really enjoy their “good mornings” when I am outside. Please remember to be through the school gate before 9am as your child will be recorded as late after this time. The late signing in system can also take time to fill in so it’s definitely better to be on time. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend.
