No 355, Friday 6th October 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you again for attending the parents’ meetings. I
hope you found them useful. Any questions or queries do
not hesitate to ask as we operate an open door policy and
we are always happy to discuss or chat about things. I
hope all the new parents feel settled in and welcome. It’s a
big thing having a child start school and we want to ensure
that you and your child are happy. I am so impressed with
how our Nursery and Reception children have settled in.
It’s like they have been here forever. I enjoy going to see
them and seeing their happy faces.

We have had a great week. The children are working hard
and I have seen quite a few gold certificates since we’ve
been back. It’s great to see their proud faces. Always a
pleasure.

Every year we create a school development plan and this
outlines our main priorities for the year. We carry on
working on all areas but these are the areas we need to
focus on. All staff and governors are involved in creating
this document and the outcome we aim for is always to
improve the outcomes for our children.

Our priories this year are:
1. Ensure greater consistency in all aspects of
teaching and learning
Improve writing across the school

2. Ensure that disadvantaged pupils make rapid
progress from their starting point and diminish
the difference between disadvantaged pupils and
non-disadvantaged nationally
Maintain the challenge for more able pupils to
ensure outstanding progress from starting points

3. Ensure that all leaders are clear on their
responsibilities in the school, and are effective in
strategically measuring and evaluating their
impact on improving pupils’ outcomes

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Jessica
